Instruction Manual
Congratulations on your purchase of a Taylor®
Mechanical Receiving Scale. Your Taylor® scale is an
example of superior design and craftsmanship. Please
read this instruction manual carefully before use. Keep
these instructions handy for future reference.
General Operation Continued
located under the dial window. This will lock the dial
in place, so when the item is removed, the pointer
will still indicate the weight.
8. Pull up the “PRESS TO LOCK” lever to release the
dial for the next weighing.
General Operation
Care and Maintenance
1. Place the scale on a hard, level surface.
2. Allow the scale to reach room temperature before
use.
1. The body and the mechanism are not dishwasher
safe. Immersing the scale in water may trap liquid
between the lens and the body that can not be
effectively dried out. This damage will void the
warranty.
2. An occasional cleaning of exposed parts with a soft,
slightly damp cloth will keep your Taylor® scale
clean and attractive. To remove stains, use a mild
soap. Never use detergents, excess water, treated
cloths, harsh cleaning agents, or sprays. Your
Taylor® scale does not require oiling or lubrication
of any kind.
3. Place a weight on the scale and allow the pointer to
come to rest.
4. Remove the weight and allow the pointer to come to
rest.
5. Repeat this cycle two or three times. Remove the
weight from the platform. Adjust the pointer to zero
using the adjustment dial on the right side of the
scale.
6. If the scale is relocated or bumped during weighing,
a readjustment to zero may be required. To do so,
repeat the above steps. When weighing, evenly
distribute weight on the platform.
7. Place a weight on the platform. Wait a few seconds
for the dial to come to rest. If the dial window is not
visible, press down on the “PRESS TO LOCK” lever
3. Do not tamper with the scale's internal components.
Doing so will invalidate the warranty on this scale
and may cause damage. The scale contains no user-
serviceable parts.
